Critical Role Campaign 4 Unveils the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and sinister influences expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).

The Reason for Division

Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Combat Party

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.

At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the actions of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

For one thing, the group knows exactly where to head next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.

The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The grateful character vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This leaves them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of Casimir.

What’s Next?

From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Seekers and Schemers parties.

Fans can expect discovering which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
